Spring come hither!

I don't know about you but I'm already over the chilly weather. I cant wait for the warmth to come back and when it does there are so many shoe trends to look forward to in Spring/Summer 2013.

• Studs and Spikes

Studs and spikes have been creeping into our shoe designs but it looks like next spring and summer they will be back in full force. There is a lot of versatility in the shoes with spikes to cater to the full fledged rock stars to some of us who don't want to end up puncturing holes in our own legs.

• Chunky heels

Now to be quite honest i have been kind of skeptical about this chunky heel trend. one was potential to end up looking like you have tree trunks for legs. I think if you have long lean legs you can pull this trend off easily but if you don't just be cautious that the shoe doesn't have too much going on as well as a super thick heel, try to keep it minimal and elegant.

• Prints and bold colors

Now this is one trend that i love. Nothing cheers you up quite like a fun bright shoe! I'm glad to see that color blocking has crept into fall 2012 and it looks like we will still be enjoying this trend next year.

 

• Strappy sandals

What more is there to say about strappy sandals, they are a closet staple for any woman. From ball gowns to cocktail dresses to jeans, they play well with everyone :)

 

• Metallics

Metallic shoes can also vamp up an outfit, I like the traditional gold and silver but a pop of color here and there never hurt anyone.

   

• Pointed toe

Pointed toe shoes without platforms are absolutely timeless and CHIC! they are also another favorite in the coming spring and summer.

• Reptile prints

Reptile prints just like metallics have been trending for a little while according to my observation. I like my reptile prints to have less busy colors and three colors at the most. I think the print pattern speaks for itself and it is easy to overdue it with too many colors in one shoe.

• Intricate heel and wedge platform designs

Now this is where your artistic and daring side can be flaunted. These kind of statement pieces have to be rocked with uber confidence and minimal accessories.

• Transparent heels

Now this is one delicate trend that walks a thin line between intriguing and chic to lady of the night kind of thing :) Maison Martin Margiela is successful in pulling off the pretty pointy toe nude wedge below.
